Biden Admin To Work "Every Minute, Every Day" Until Trump Inauguration To Give Ukraine What It needs, House Speaker Blocks Latest Ukraine Aid Request

WASHINGTON - US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, while speaking to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on December 3rd at the NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium said that the Biden Administration will be working “every minute, every day” until the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to give Ukraine what it needs to support the country during the ongoing Russian invasion.
Blinken said, "We share Mark's concerns about Ukraine amid this ongoing aggression," referring to Rutte's comments on Ukraine's energy infrastructure as winter approaches.
“But it only strengthens our resolve to make sure that Ukraine has everything it needs to deal with what it faces on the battlefield. And also to deal with the current assault on its energy infrastructure, with Putin once again using winter as a weapon to try to freeze people out of their homes, to turn off the lights. We will not allow this. We are determined on this front," he added.
Rutte said, “We should do everything possible to send more military aid to Ukraine. And I want to thank you, the United States, as well as Sweden, Britain, Estonia, Norway and Germany, for the fact that in the last few days they again announced the arrival of additional military aid to Ukraine.
This is very important, especially now, when winter is approaching, and we know what the situation is with the energy infrastructure in Ukraine."
Blinken then said, “Until January 20, every minute [until the presidential inauguration] , every day. We are determined to continue the work we have done together over the past four years, work that has strengthened this alliance in extraordinary ways, with new members, new resources and assets.
And I think with a new determination both to continue to support Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression and to deal with many other threats and challenges that unite us in the world's largest defense alliance,"
He added, in light of comments by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about joining the NATO alliance, "The reason the alliance is stronger than ever is because we all know it is the best guarantee against war, the best means of preventing conflict, the best means of ensuring our collective security”.
"And that's because, by joining NATO, each ally undertakes that an attack on one is an attack on all, which means that any aggressor knows that if he attacks one NATO country, he must to fight with everyone, and this, first of all, is the best way to restrain aggression.”
U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson on December 4th has blocked the latest request by U.S. President Joe Biden the funding needed to give Ukraine $24 billion in additional aid, saying that he would not add additional aid to Ukraine.
During a press briefing, Johnson said “I’m not planning to do that,” regarding continuing the resolution to give more aid to Ukraine.
"It is not the place of Joe Biden to make that decision now, we have a newly elected president, and we are going to wait and take the new commander in chief’s direction on all that, so I don’t expect any Ukraine funding to come up now," he stated.
