White House - US President Joe Biden has authorized a draw-down of $345 million in defense articles and services of the Department of Defense, along with military education and training assistance to Taiwan. 

The U.S. Congress authorized up to $1 billion in weapons aid to Taiwan in its budget for 2023. Reuters cited sources saying that this latest package may include unarmed MQ-9A reconnaissance drones but said that they might not make it in the package as officials “work through the details” on removing advanced equipment from the drones that are restricted by the use of the U.S. Air Force alone.
