EUROPE - Ukraine has now fired British long-range Storm Shadow missiles into Russia for the first time as Nordic countries and Russia prepare for a possible nuclear conflict. Additionally, the Biden administration has shifted its policy not to allow antipersonnel land mines known to cause a high number of civilian deaths to be sent to Ukraine.
Baltic states, including Sweden, Finland and Norway have begun issuing updated versions of their crisis readiness handbooks as geopolitical tensions continue to increase in the region, while Russia has begun mass production of its KUB-M mobile bomb shelters that give 48 hour protection against nuclear and other types of hazards, according to the Russian Emergency Ministry.
The move to hand out crisis pamphlets to the population follows Sweden’s Civil Defense Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin’s announcement that included the phrase, "There could be war in Sweden".
