China Conducts Military Exercises Around Taiwan As "Stern Warning" For "Provocations"
The Chinese military carried out new sea and air drills and patrols around the island of Taiwan, which it says are meant to train military to seize control of air and sea spaces.
According to Taiwan's Ministry of Defense, 51 Chinese military aircraft and 14 PLA Navy (PLAN) vessels were spotted around the island of Taiwan on August 19th, 2023.
Initially, 9 military aircraft and 6 PLAN vessels were spotted, then later an additional 42 military aircraft and 8 PLAN vessels were spotted as a result of military exercises being carried out around the island by Chinese forces.
