HAWAII - Almost 700 DOD personnel and 140 Coast Guardsmen are part of the coordinated response to the Maui wildfires that killed more than 100 people and destroyed the city of Lahaina last week, Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said today.

Service members and first responders survey damage among vehicles destroyed by a wildfire.

The military members are working with members of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, officials from the state of Hawaii, and Maui officials on a variety of missions.
