India, Russia Ban Rice Exports Raising Risk Of Global Food Price Increase

NEW DELHI - India has banned all non-basmati rice exports worldwide, and Russia has also announced a "temporary" ban on all rice exports, which it says is aimed at "stabilizing the domestic market", according to the Kremlin. 

India is the largest rice exporter in the world, accounting for about 40% of global exports, potentially leading to a major impact on the price of rice across the world.
