Iran Unveils "Fattah II" Hypersonic Missile It Claims Can Reach Up To Mach 15

The speed, unpredictable flight paths, and maneuverability of hypersonic missiles make it very difficult for conventional missile defense systems, or even most defense systems to intercept.

TEHRAN - Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force has unveiled the country's new Fattah II missile propelled by a solid-fuel engine. It claims it has a hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) warhead.

The missile, which was unveiled by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at the Ashura Aerospace Science and Technology University is claimed by Iranian state news to have a range of up to 1,400 kilometers (870 miles), much like the Fattah-I missile unveiled in June.
