RED SEA - An anti-ship missile fired from Yemen by Iranian-backed Houthi militants hit a U.S.-owned and operated container ship, but the vessel reported no injuries or significant damages and continued to its destination, according to U.S. Central Command. The UKMTO also reported incidents around the same region.

Another anti-ship ballistic missile was fired from Yemen earlier in the day at about 2 p.m. toward the shipping lanes in the Southern Red Sea, but failed during its flight and landed back in Yemen. There were also no injuries or damages reported in that incident.

Incident On January 14th

Central Command also reported an incident that occurred on January 14th at 4:45 p.m. local Sanaa time that involved an anti-ship cruise missile being fired from Houthi areas in Yemen toward the USS Laboon (DDG-58) operating in the Southern Red Sea.

In that incident, the missile was intercepted and shot down off the coast of Hudaydah by U.S. fighter jets. No injuries or damages were reported in that incident either.

The Pakistani Navy has also reported that it will be holding live-fire exercises off its coast.
