MIDDLE EAST - The Israeli Military's Chief of Staff has issued a stern warning to Iran, stating that the IDF is prepared to strike at any time and place. Meanwhile, Syria's new Foreign Minister has cautioned Tehran against spreading chaos in Syria.
Additionally, the Iranian currency has plummeted to a new low amid extremely high inflation, suggesting that the country might be more open to negotiations as the new U.S. administration takes office and is expected to continue its 'maximum pressure campaign' in the coming year.
IDF Chief: Iran, Its Proxies Should Know: The IDF Will Stand Firm Against Anyone Who Tries To Undermine The Stability And Security Of Israel
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi said on Wednesday, "Iran should know, its proxies should know and the entire Middle East, anyone who tries to undermine the stability and security of the State of Israel, the IDF will stand firm against them, ready to strike at any time and in any place".
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had said two days prior that, "Israel is consolidating its deterrent power, it is striking at those who seek to harm it, it is collapsing Iran's terror branches one after the other".
He added that Iran is still "busy licking the wounds from the blows we inflicted on them", and said that he has recently instructed the Israeli military to attack Houthi forces in Yemen as a response to missiles fired by the group toward Israel over the last few days.
Netanyahu said on Wednesday "The Houthis too will learn what Hamas and Hezbollah and Assad’s regime and others learned, and even if it takes time this lesson will be learned across the Middle East."
He added, "Israel is striking the enemies and those who thought they will sever our lives here, so it will apply to everyone”.
