Japanese Ministry of Defense: "China's naval and air forces are expanding and intensifying their activities in the waters and airspace surrounding Japan, including those around the Senkaku Islands.  

In FY2022, navy vessels will enter the contiguous zone southwest of Uotsuri Island, and naval survey ships will also sail in Japanese territorial waters near Kuchinoerabujima, Kuchinoshima, and Yakushima. Unmanned aerial vehicle activity is also on the rise.
