Mexico & Canada Replace China As Leading US Trade Partners

Data from the International Trade Administration and the United States Census Bureau shows Mexico taking the lead as trade partner in 2023, with Canada taking a close second place.

MEXICO CITY - Mexico has replaced China as the leading trade partner for the United States, according to the Mexican Embassy in the United States, which stated that in the first half of 2023, Mexico has been the top trading partner for the United States. 

The United States has imported 23.1% less goods from China, with the European Union also importing 20.6% less goods from China. 

The Embassy of Mexico in the United States posted the below graph and said, "Fantastic news! Mexico maintains its position as the leading trade partner for the US in the first half of 2023. Our robust partnership drives economic growth and nurtures collaboration beyond borders":
