EUROPE — NATO conducts continuous air policing operations across its eastern flank to secure airspace and respond to potential violations. A Russian Shahed drone entered Polish airspace from Ukraine during strikes. In Romania, two German Air Force Typhoon aircraft from Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base monitored the border with Ukraine.
The Romanian Ministry of National Defense detected Russian drones targeting Ukrainian ports on the Danube, with no intrusions into national airspace. A Russian Shahed drone entered Polish airspace during the attacks, flying low before crashing in a field.
Russia launched drone and missile strikes on Ukraine overnight, impacting Odesa and Lviv regions. Ukraine's air force reported intercepting or suppressing multiple threats. In Izmail, Odesa region, infrastructure damage caused fires and injuries. In Lviv, the strikes resulted in casualties.
