North Korea Notifies Japan Of Satellite Launch, South Korea "Strongly Warns" Against It

Japan says it will shoot down any projectiles that threaten its territory, and that it recognizes there is a possibility it could pass through their airspace.

PYONGYANG - After South Korea notified Japan of an upcoming satellite launch, South Korea “strongly” warned against the launch, while Japan said that the country would shoot down any projectiles that threaten its territory.

Japan’s chief cabinet secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said at a regular briefing after being informed of the North Korean plans to carry out the launch between May 31 and June 11th, “The government recognizes that there is a possibility that the satellite may pass through our country's territory".
