Ordered Departure of Non-Emergency U.S. Government Personnel from U.S. Embassy Niamey, Niger

The State Department continually adjusts its posture at embassies and consulates throughout the world in line with its mission, the local security environment, and the health situation.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken: "Today, we ordered the temporary departure of non-emergency personnel and eligible family members from Niger. The U.S. is committed to our relationship with the people of Niger. The embassy remains open, and our leaders are diplomatically engaged at the highest levels".
