Pakistani Man Living In Canada Charged With Attempting To Enter US, Carry Out Mass Shooting In New York On October 7th Attack Anniversary
Muhammad Shahzeb Khan is charged with attempting to provide material support and resources to the Islamic State of Iraq, the ISIS terrorist organization.
US/CANADA - A Pakistani citizen living in Canada has been charged with attempting to enter the United States to carry out a mass shooting at a Jewish Center in New York on October 7th, the one-year anniversary of the 2023 Hamas terrorist infiltration and attack on Israel.
20-year-old Muhammad Shahzeb Khan was arrested on September 4th in Canada in connection with a complaint that was filed in the Southern District of New York and is charged with attempting to provide material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization (FTO), the Islamic State of Iraq and the al-Sham (ISIS) terrorist organization.
A statement by U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland said, “The defendant is alleged to have planned a terrorist attack in New York City around October 7th of this year with the stated goal of slaughtering, in the name of ISIS, as many Jewish people as possible".
The statement also said, "The Justice Department will continue to work closely with our domestic and international partners to aggressively counter the threat posed by ISIS and other terrorist organizations and their supporters".
