Pakistani Mediator States Final US-Iran Pace Deal Reached, Iran Says No Final Conclusion
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stated most of the text was finalized but the US side made new demands and changed its positions.
MIDDLE EAST — On June 12, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, serving as mediator, stated that a final, agreed upon text of a peace deal between the United States and Iran has been reached and that his country is working with both sides to finalize next steps.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that final peace agreement text had been reached. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stated, however, that Iran has not reached a final conclusion. The two claims stand side by side without resolution.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated the agreement “has never been closer” to completion and wrote “Pending its finalization, the media should refrain from entering speculation about its content.”
