U.S. President Donald Trump Arrives At White House Ahead Of National Security Meeting In The Situation Room, Says US Attacked Iranian Nuclear Sites
The United States moved heavy B-2 bombers from a Missouri base to a military base located in the Pacific, we're looking further into where the attacks on the bases were actually carried out from.
WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump has now arrived at the White House to attend his National Security Meeting in the Situation Room. Update: Trump now says the United States attacked three Iranian nuclear sites.
The United States moved heavy B-2 bombers from a Missouri base to a military base located in the Pacific, though media reports the bombers deployed to Guam were decoys used to distract Iran while bombers elsewhere carried out their mission. B-2 bombers are the only aircraft capable of carrying 30,000-pound GBU-57 bunker-buster bombs that would be needed to take out Iran's deep underground nuclear complexes.
Representative to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei cited by Iran's Kayhan newspaper: "It is now our turn to act without delay. As a first step, we must launch a missile strike on the US naval fleet in Bahrain and simultaneously close the Strait of Hormuz to American, British, German, and French ships".
Fox News has reported that the deployment of B-2 bombers to Guam was a diversion and that the actual strikes were conducted by a separate group of bombers positioned earlier. While we are unable to independently verify this claim at this time, we are actively investigating.
The tactic appears consistent with previous instances of military deception, such as when Israel signaled a ground incursion into Gaza, prompting Hamas to retreat into tunnel systems that were subsequently targeted.
Trump: US Carries Out Strikes On 3 Iranian Nuclear Sites
“A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
In an additional statement, Trump said “Any retaliation by Iran against the United States of America will be met with force far greater than what was witnessed tonight.”
Iranian state-run television said that three nuclear sites had been evacuated before being hit, but it was reported after strikes by the United States on the Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz nuclear sites.
Iranian state television: "Trump usually bluffs. The extent of the damage needs to be assessed. The Islamic Republic's nuclear industry cannot be destroyed by bombing." Donald Trump re-posted an OSINT statement on social media by Open Source Intel that said "Fordow is gone".
Statement By Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Dear citizens of Israel, my brothers and sisters. In Operation 'Am Kalavi', we achieved unprecedented achievements together in Israeli history. You remember that from the beginning of the operation, I promised you that Iran's nuclear facilities would be destroyed, one way or another.
This promise was fulfilled. A short time ago, in full coordination between me and President Trump, and in full operational coordination between the IDF and the United States military, the United States attacked Iran's three nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
In doing so, the United States continued, with greater intensity and with great force, the attacks of the IDF and the Mossad on Iran's nuclear program. This program threatened our very existence and also endangered the peace of the entire world. Immediately after the operation was completed, President Trump called me.
It was a very warm, very moving conversation. He blessed me, he blessed our army and he blessed our people. And I congratulated him, the United States pilots, and the American people. President Trump is a strong leader of the free world. He is a great friend of Israel, a friend like no other.
In my name and on behalf of all the citizens of Israel, on behalf of the entire Jewish people, I thank him from the bottom of my heart. And I know, citizens of Israel, that I speak from the bottom of each and every one of your hearts.
We stand together, We fight together, And with God's help - we win together. As the verse says, "We will ascend, for we can overcome them."
