MOSCOW - Russian President Vladimir Putin said that 11 people have been detained, and four "direct perpetrators" of the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall have been arrested, adding that the country's Federal Security Service (FSB) is working to identify the accomplice base of those involved.

Attack On Crocus City Hall Complex In Moscow

MOSCOW - An attack on the Crocus City Hall Complex in Moscow has killed at least 40 people and left over 140 others injured. In Washington, the White House condemned the attack and released an initial statement offering condolences to the shooting victims, with National Security Council spokesman John Kirby adding that there was no indication that Ukraine was involved in the attack.

"All perpetrators, organizers, and customers of this crime will suffer fair and inevitable punishment. Whoever they are, whoever guides them.

I repeat: we will establish and punish everyone who stands behind the terrorists, who prepared this atrocity, this blow for Russia, for our people," Putin's statement read.

According to Russian officials, at least 133 people were killed in the attack, and more than 150 were injured.

"In Moscow and the Moscow region, in all Additional anti-terrorist and anti-sabotage measures have been introduced in the country's regions. The main thing now is to prevent those who are behind this bloody massacre, commit a new crime," Putin stated.

"We know what the threat of terrorism is. We count here on interaction with all states that sincerely share our pain and are ready to actually join forces in the fight against the common the enemy, international terrorism, with all its manifestations."

While a statement made by Putin said the attackers were aided by individuals on the Ukrainian side of the border, the White House released a statement saying Ukraine had no involvement in the attack whatsoever and that ISIS bears sole responsibility.
