MOSCOW - The Kremlin has released a statement that the country has increased its military personnel by 15%, from 1.15 million to 1.32 million, and staffing levels of the Armed Forces to 2,209,130 ​​persons.

"In accordance with Article 4 of Federal Law On Defence No. 61-FZ of May 31, 1996, the President ordered that the staffing levels of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation total 2,209,130 ​​persons, including 1,320,000 military personnel," the statement read. 

In addition, it added, "The Government of the Russian Federation has been instructed to provide the Ministry of Defence with appropriate funding from the federal budget".
