Russia Revises Nuclear Doctrine, ICC Issues Arrest Warrants For Two Russian Military Officials
On June 5th, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the West was wrong to assume that Moscow would never use nuclear weapons.
EUROPE - The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for former Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu, and Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Vasilyevich Gerasimov for crimes alleged to have occurred during Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The ICC statement said that the judge found that there were, "Reasonable grounds to believe that the two suspects bear responsibility for missile strikes carried out by the Russian armed forces against the Ukrainian electric infrastructure from at least 10 October 2022 until at least 9 March 2023".
Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin is revising the country's nuclear doctrine in order to "bring the doctrine into line with current realities," according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Monday.
