KERR COUNTY, TEXAS — On July 4, 2025, major flooding struck Kerr County, Texas, resulting in at least 79 deaths and widespread damage to infrastructure and homes. The flooding, caused by heavy rainfall, led to rapid water rises along the Guadalupe River, overwhelming local communities.

Official reports confirm the death toll, with rescue operations ongoing to locate missing persons, particularly from Camp Mystic, a summer camp in the affected area. Over 850 individuals have been evacuated or rescued, reflecting the scale of the disaster and response efforts.

The U.S. Coast Guard released a statement that said, “Amid the ongoing tragedy in Central Texas, the U.S. Coast Guard has deployed additional air assets to support the response. Death Toll and Missing Persons

As of July 5, 2025, Kerr County officials report a confirmed death toll of at least 43, comprising 18 adults and nine children. Among the deceased is a 9-year-old camper from Camp Mystic. Search efforts continue for 23 to 25 missing individuals from the camp, predominantly young girls.
