US, Chinese Officials Meet For First Time Since 2020 To Discuss Regional, Global Security

PENTAGON - U.S. and Chinese officials met for the first time face-to-face since January 2020 to talk about current regional and global security issues as the United States and China resume military-to-military talks as agreed upon in November.

The Chinese ambassador to the United States Xie Feng also discussed China's "Red Line" and urged the US to "Take real actions to address China’s concerns," regarding Taiwan and the Strait.

During the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leader’s meeting in San Francisco in November of last year, and repeated concerns over lack of communication between military leaders, U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to resume communications between the country’s militaries, including the previously-held annual talks.
