US Completes Chemical Weapons Stockpile Destruction Operations

This achievement marks the destruction of all chemical weapon stockpiles declared to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague.

The United States has finished destroying its entire chemical weapons stockpile, which now means that 100% of the world’s declared chemical stockpiles have been destroyed.

Although all declared chemical weapons have been destroyed, some countries have been found to possess undeclared chemical weapons despite the ban on them. In 2021 the United Nations found undeclared chemical weapons in Syria.
