U.S. House Adopts Resolution Directing Termination of Hostilities with Iran, US Issues Travel Security Alert For Kuwait

The U.S. Department of State has issued a travel security alert for Kuwait citing the airport incident and continuing aerial threats.

WASHINGTON — On June 3, the U.S. House of Representatives approved H.Con.Res.86 by a vote of 215–208. The resolution instructs the President, under section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution, to withdraw U.S. Armed Forces from hostilities involving the Islamic Republic of Iran unless Congress provides explicit authorization through a declaration of war or a specific authorization for the use of military force.

The U.S. Department of State has issued a travel security alert for Kuwait citing the airport incident and continuing aerial threats.

U.S. Central Command stated that U.S. forces intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones on June 2-3 and conducted self-defense strikes on an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island.
