U.S. House Adopts Resolution Directing Termination of Hostilities with Iran, US Issues Travel Security Alert For Kuwait
The U.S. Department of State has issued a travel security alert for Kuwait citing the airport incident and continuing aerial threats.
WASHINGTON — On June 3, the U.S. House of Representatives approved H.Con.Res.86 by a vote of 215–208. The resolution instructs the President, under section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution, to withdraw U.S. Armed Forces from hostilities involving the Islamic Republic of Iran unless Congress provides explicit authorization through a declaration of war or a specific authorization for the use of military force.
In a separate incident on June 3, Kuwait authorities reported that drones and missiles struck Terminal 1 at Kuwait International Airport, causing severe structural damage, one fatality, and 63 injuries.
