UN: Israel Blocking Aid To The Strip, Israel: UN Not Condemning Aid Workers Cooperating With Terrorists
Israel focused on targeting Hamas militants at the Al Shifa hospital in Gaza City which has been a refuge location for civilians but Israel says is harboring Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants.
ISRAEL/GAZA - United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres blamed Israel for blocking aid to Gaza on Sunday saying that "horror and starvation stalk the people of Gaza” and adding that only Israel can remove the obstacles necessary to get aid into the Strip. The Israeli Foreign Minister quickly pointed out on social media that Guterres hasn’t condemned UNRWA aid workers cooperating with terrorists.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz replied to the UN head on social media by saying, “The UN Secretary-General [Antonio Guterres] stood today on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing and blamed Israel for the humanitarian situation in Gaza, without condemning in any way the Hamas-ISIS terrorists who plunder humanitarian aid, without condemning UNRWA that cooperates with terrorists - and without calling for the immediate, unconditional release of all Israeli hostages.
Under his leadership, the [UN] has become an antisemitic and anti-Israeli body that shelters and emboldens terror.”
The total combined Israel/Gaza death toll now stands at 32,226, which includes Hamas fighters killed, according to the Hamas-led Gazan Health Ministry which doesn't differentiate between civilian deaths and combatants when calculating the death toll.
Hamas Claims It Lost 6,000 Fighters, Israel Claims To Have Killed 13,000 Of The Group’s Militants, 1,000 In Israel
The Hamas terrorist organization has claimed as of February that it lost 6,000 fighters, while Israel has claimed to have killed around 12,000 of the group's militants.
The Israeli Embassy in the UK told BBC in February that it had killed "between 10,000 and 12,000" Hamas fighters, but added that it's difficult to tell civilians and fighters apart because many militants aren't wearing uniforms, and some of the Hamas fighters are as young as 16 and 17.
A more recent number given by The Times Of Israel says that 13,000 Hamas militants have now been killed, with 1,000 killed within the state of Israel.
The Israeli death still stands at 1,200, with 250 civilians initially kidnapped, and about 100 of whom are still being held hostage by the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza.
UN Chief: Nothing Justifies Abhorrent October 7th Hamas Attacks, But Nothing Justifies Collective Punishment Of The Palestinian People
Regarding the Hamas attacks that started the war, the UN head said, “Let me be clear. Nothing justifies the abhorrent October 7 Hamas attacks and hostage-taking in Israel,” he said while visiting Cairo to meet with officials in Egypt pushing for a cease-fire.
He added, “But nothing justifies the collective punishment of the Palestinian people".
Guterres visited the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt and said that it was a "moral outrage" that aid is being blocked from getting into Gaza.
“Here from this crossing, we see the heartbreak and heartlessness of it all. A long line of blocked relief trucks on one side of the gates, the long shadow of starvation on the other,” he stated.
"The daily assault on the human dignity of Palestinians is creating a crisis of credibility for the international community," he added.
