WASHINGTON - U.S. President Joe Biden says that he has decided how the United States will be responding to the attack by Iranian-backed militants on the U.S. base in Jordan that killed three American soldiers and wounded over 40.

Biden: Yes To Having Decided A Response, But Doesn’t Want To Broaden Regional War

After he was asked by reporters if he’s decided on a response, Biden said “yes” while exiting the White House on Tuesday, adding that he’s not looking to broaden the current war in the Middle East.

National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said “The president will do what he has to do to protect our troops and our facilities and to look after our national security ... interests in the region," adding that Biden’s response will be a "tiered approach" which will include "potentially multiple actions”.
