Reports On Europe

During a press briefing, Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said that the Department of Defense will be working hard to get the remaining security assistance pushed through to Ukraine.

"It is a short time … just under 70 days," Singh stated adding, "This department can do incredible work in that amount of time. The president made clear that … he wants to spend down the authority that Congress has allocated and authorized before he leaves office. We're going to work very hard to make sure that happens".

A statement by the Pentagon said that since Russia invaded Ukraine on February of 2022 the United States has given Ukraine around $60.4 billion in security assistance, with the 69th presidential draw-down authority package being initiated on November 1st (this month) totaling around $425 million.

"I expect that for the next coming months of this administration, you're going to continue to see those packages draw down from ... what's available in our stockpiles," Singh stated adding, "Again, we're committed to ensuring that Ukraine has what it needs to be successful on the battlefield".

"We're constantly refilling our shelves and our stockpiles," she stated. "The secretary is not going to allow the department to dip below readiness levels that he doesn't feel comfortable with. So, as we continue to refill our own shelves, you're going to see equipment, capabilities continue to flow out."

Media reports also say the Biden Administration has decided to allow U.S. defense contractors to enter and work in Ukraine to repair weapons and equipment provided to Kyiv by the United States, but not official statement has been released by the Pentagon regarding this.

The Pentagon has also released a report on a series of precise airstrikes on multiple Houthi weapons storage facilities by U.S. forces situated within Houthi-controlled territories in Yemen, November 9th and 10th.
