AFRICA — Explosions occurred near Khartoum International Airport early on October 21, while witnesses reported sounds of drones and blasts in several districts. Security sources indicated that anti-aircraft systems intercepted multiple drones, resulting in minor injuries to maintenance workers and a civil defense officer.
The incident took place one day before the facility was scheduled to resume domestic flights following a closure of over two years due to ongoing conflict. Similar attacks targeted army bases in northwest Khartoum on previous days, marking the third such event in a week. Limited losses were reported, with no major damage confirmed.
