The Pakistan military says they are responding to the attacks.
ISLAMABAD - Over 73 people have been killed, including civilians in Pakistan’s Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan after separatist militants attacked railways, buses, highways, and police stations. The Pakistan military says they are responding to the attacks.
NOTE: Pardon the silence the last few days, I was busy coding a new chat system for our intel team so that they don't have to rely on Telegram for posting and analyzing intel. I've still been watching things.
One railway linking the country to Iran was also hit with blasts, resulting in the railway traffic to be suspended in that location.
According to the Balochistan chief minister 38 civilians were killed, 23 of whom were killed by armed men who checked bus passengers ID’s (presumably to check their ethnicity) before shooting them and lighting the vehicles on fire.
Despite statements by Pakistani officials stating that civilians were targeted, the group that took responsibility for the attacks claimed it only targeted militants and did not harm any civilians during its operations.
Pakistani security forces launched retaliatory operations in response to the attacks, according to the country’s officials.
Pakistani Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said, “People were taken off buses and killed in front of their families”.
Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said of the attacks, "These attacks are a well thought-out plan to create anarchy in Pakistan”.
