GLOBAL — U.S. forces conducted airstrikes targeting Islamic State of Iraq and Syria-Somalia on November 18 in the Galmudug region, approximately 40 miles (65 km) southeast of Bossaso, in coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia.
This operation aligns with ongoing efforts to degrade the affiliate’s capabilities, as Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and branches continue operations worldwide in 2025 despite territorial defeats.
