US Announces Launch of First Pilot Zones in Southern Lebanon Under Trilateral Framework
The United States stated it will continue working closely with both parties to implement the Framework.
MIDDLE EAST — On July 20, pilot zone operations began in the villages of Froun, Srifa, and Zawtar Al-Gharbiya under the Trilateral Framework and the auspices of the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon, according to a press statement by U.S. Department of State Spokesperson Thomas “Tommy” Pigott.
The development follows discussions between Israel and Lebanon in Rome the prior week. The United States stated it will continue working closely with both parties to implement the Framework.
