Additional strikes occurred in Al-Suwaidia directorate in al-Bayda province, an area known for Houthi military sites and weapons storage. These actions, which began intensifying on March 15, aim to disrupt Houthi capabilities and reflect a stated U.S. objective to ensure maritime navigation security.

Casualty Counts:

  • Injuries from March 20 Strikes: At least nine individuals, primarily women and children, were injured in Sanaa’s Al-Thawra directorate, according to Anees al-Asbahi, a spokesperson for the Houthi-run health ministry, as reported by Reuters (March 20, 2025, 12:38 PST). No deaths were specifically reported from these strikes.

  • Cumulative Casualties from March Campaign: The broader U.S. campaign, starting March 15, has resulted in at least 53 deaths and 98 injuries as of March 17, per the Houthi-run health ministry’s last reported figures, cited by BBC (March 17, 2025, 09:42 PST). These figures include five children and two women among the deceased, reflecting the toll up to March 17, not exclusively March 20.

Strikes Are A Response To Houthi Threats To Resume Attacks On Israeli-linked ships, No Attacks Reported Since The Threat Was Issued
