WASHINGTON - U.S. President Donald Trump has issued an executive order to re-designate the Houthi group, also known as Ansar Allah as a foreign terrorist organization, reversing the Biden administration's previous decision to remove the designation.
The designation of the group as a foreign terrorist organization enables the United States to impose stricter sanctions in response to ongoing attacks on U.S. and allied naval vessels, as well as merchant ships in the Red Sea region.
